Animals Health Continuously Deteriorating in Karachi Zoo
Day by day a new case is coming into the picture related to the worsening health of animals in Lahore Zoo.
A resident of Lahore, Rahma Tahir says “Due to shortage of staff members, there is a lot of negligence being showed in the care of animals as a result.”
According to Lahore Zoo Deputy Director , the zoo does not proper and sufficient space to keep the animals. Which caused in relocation of animals to different places.
Lately, a rare breed of White Lion also passed away in the Lahore zoo due to high negligence in proper care of the lion.
Visitors feel extremely disappointed to see the empty cages and minimal animals available in highly bad health in Lahore zoo which kills theirs excitement and enthusiasm.
The problem arising is not only negligence in the care of animals by the Zoo staff but also shortage of Funds to run the Zoo. Due to shortage of funds, there comes shortage of staff members to look after the animals as well as shortage of proper medicines and vaccinations needed for the animals.
The government should take these issues into consideration as soon as possible before the situation worsens up further and gets out of hands completely.

Increase In The Prices Of Animal Feed Resulting In Problems For The Poultry Farmers
Since a year, the the prices of animal feed such as layer feed and cow feed are drastically increasing. The price is showing no chance to lower down but instead unstoppably increasing day by day.
According to sources, the poultry farming sector of Pakistan contributes 26.8%, 5.76% and 1.26% respectively to total meat production, agricultural sector and overall GDP.
The increase in the prices of the feeds is adding a lot to to the farmers cost of production of eggs and meat. This adds to hurdles for the farmers as they are now finding it difficult to meet their profit revenue margins easily.
Muhammad Muaaz, A poultry farm owner in Jia Baga, Lahore says, “ The constant rise on the prices of animal feed has forced many poultry farm owners to leave this sector due to drastic fall in the profit margins.”
The poultry farmers demand an action on this issue by the government in the form of a cut in the feed prices or subsidies for the farmers in order to save this sector from further deteriorating and ultimately completely failing as this sector contributes a lot to the GDP of the country.
As a result of the price increase of the animal feeds, the prices of meat and eggs also significantly increase.
